Call for Speaker Submissions: Environmental Flows Conference 2024
Join us in Kelowna, British Columbia, from March 13-15, 2024, for the Environmental Flows Conference, where we unite experts, visionaries, and community leaders dedicated to sustainable water futures. We invite you to contribute to this transformative journey by submitting your proposals for presentations.

Conference Themes:
- Regulatory: Explore the frameworks that govern our water resources and discuss the evolution of water regulation.
- Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK): Share insights on how indigenous wisdom shapes our understanding and management of water ecosystems.
- Water Licensing: Delve into the complexities of water rights and the allocation processes that ensure equitable access and sustainability.
- Aquatic Species: Present on the conservation and management of aquatic life, focusing on innovative approaches to understanding biodiversity and its relationship to flowing water.
- Environmental Flow (EF) – Setting Methods | Stream Restoration: Discuss methodologies for determining environmental flows and strategies for stream restoration.
- Water Quality | Sediment: Address the challenges and solutions related to maintaining and improving water quality and sediment management.
- Groundwater: Shed light on the critical issues surrounding groundwater management and preservation.
- Storage | Land Use: Examine the impact of land use on water storage and the implications for environmental flow management.
- Environmental Flows and Society: Enhance understanding of how environmental flows influence and are influenced by society’s values, and how they can be used to reflect and defend what we hold dear.
Submission Guidelines:
- Abstracts should be a maximum of 250 words.
- Presentations should be designed for a 10-minute delivery, followed by guided discussions. However, some presentations may include an extended 30-min delivery.
- Submissions must align with one of the conference themes.
- We encourage a focus on innovative research, case studies, and collaborative initiatives.
How to Submit: . Please send your submissions to info@environmentalflows2024.ca with the title: “Abstract Submission EF2024”. Ensure your submission includes the presentation title, a brief description, the theme it addresses, and any relevant supporting documents or media.

Selection Process: Submissions will be reviewed by our panel of experts. Selected speakers will be notified and provided with further details on presentation logistics and conference arrangements. Speakers will be asked to submit an extended abstract (one to two pages) that elaborates on the key points of their presentation to provide more details on the background, methods, and findings.
