North America Stream Hydrographers (NASH) is pleased to announce it will be hosting a training event alongside the EFN conference in Kelowna, BC.

This training event focuses on the best practices and standards of the BC RISC Hydrometric Standards for conducting salt dilution discharge measurements.

This training event will take place before the conference on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. The event location is TBD but within the Kelowna area. Come train alongside industry experts on hydrometric techniques and instrumentation used in challenging winter flow conditions.

Participants will have the opportunity to develop their best practices through discussions, presentations, and hand-on learning with industry experts on the following discussion topics:

1. Principles of dilution measurements and introduction to equations.

2. Constant rate vs slug injection.

3. Dry salt versus brine for slug injection.

4.  Sensor calibrations.

5.  Slow vs fast slug injection.

6.  Uncertainty estimation.

7.  Glassware pros and cons.

8.  Best sources of concise methodology, principles, and RISC manual.
